Wonder and Gratitude

I paint landscapes that convey a sense of wonder at the world and how grateful I am for each moment that I am a part of it. My work evokes feelings of warmth and serenity found in nature. Glowing light and vivid color invite you into places where you can pause, take a deep breath and savor the moment. There is a spiritual presence or a hint of a higher power in these places.

Pastel is my primary medium and I love its immediacy, vibrant color, and ability to capture glowing light. I have been working with pastels for 30 years. Favorite places of inspiration include Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the New Jersey Shore, the Brandywine River Valley, Hudson Valley, New York, and Maine or anyplace that can be seen from my kayak or while hiking.

I raised three amazing humans, am nuts about my grandkids and maintain good relationships with all my nine siblings. My husband of 42 years is still my best friend. I have a studio at Aston Mills Arts in Aston, PA where I paint and am open by appointment throughout the year.
