Wonder and Gratitude
I paint landscapes that capture the wonder I feel for the world and the gratitude I have for every moment that I get to be a part of it. My work invites a sense of warmth and tranquility, drawing from the beauty of nature. Glowing light and vivid color welcome you into places where you can pause, take a deep breath and savor the moment. These scenes suggest a spiritual presence, hinting at the influence of a higher power in the quiet stillness of nature.
Pastel is my primary medium and I love its immediacy, vibrant color, and ability to capture glowing light. I have been working with pastels for 30 years. Favorite places of inspiration include Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the New Jersey Shore, the Brandywine River Valley, Hudson Valley, New York, and Maine or anyplace that can be seen from my kayak or while hiking.
I raised three amazing humans, am nuts about my grandkids and maintain good relationships with all my nine siblings. My husband of 42 years is still my best friend. I have a studio at Aston Mills Arts in Aston, PA where I paint and am open by appointment throughout the year.
